What would happen if you spent an entire day print making? Block printing, gelli printing, collagraphy, mini mono printing, encaustic printing, and a whole host of gadget printing (think food, bottle bottoms, found objects, leaves and more). And then spent a second day working with those prints under encaustic paint? You’d have a regular monothon and that’s what we will be doing at Outside the Box Studio. Come with us as we explore all sorts of monotype printing, and then combine them with encaustic painting. Two days of wild fun, no experience in printmaking or encaustic necessary. You’ll leave with a wide variety of printmaking you can do on your own without a press, and a delicious taste of encaustic painting. Supplies List: tablet of sumi paper (rice paper or calligraphy paper are other names sumi paper goes by) an apron or clothes that can get grubby Optional Supplies: lightweight papers that might work for any of the above printmaking techniques items that might make interesting gadget prints Bring your lunch (recommended) or grab something nearby
