Intensive Course
In this fun and creative mixed media class, you’ll make a floral themed artwork by layering
painted and specialty papers using collage techniques. The focus will be on using different
textures, colors, and patterns to build a dynamic composition centered around birds.
You'll start by creating your own hand-painted papers using a variety of tools, colors, and mark-making techniques. We'll also explore how to work with specialty papers—such as printed or
textured sheets—to add visual interest. Then, you'll use these papers to build up your artwork,
layering shapes and details to form your bird and its surroundings. We'll go over tips for
arranging, cutting, and gluing your papers in a way that creates depth and balance.
This class is open to all experience levels. You’ll receive step-by-step instruction and personal
feedback as you work on your piece.

Colored Pencil
Intensive Course
Get out and sharpen your colored pencils and learn how to draw and color with them! Colored pencils may be related to kids but over recent years they have been popular among artists and adults. In this class students will learn some simple and fun techniques through a series of exercises that they can utilize and apply to their own drawings. This class includes step by step approach, demonstrations and as well as regular feedback from the instructor. This is an introduction class that will progress throughout the class. Students of all artist levels are welcome to attend. Repeat the class as often as you want as you will always learn something new. Come and color with us!

Behnaz Ahmadian
Iranian-American artist Behnaz Ahmadian is an acrylic/mixed media artist based in Colorado. She is a self-taught artist and an art instructor. Behnaz is very fascinated with pattern and color and incorporates them in her paintings. Pattern and color stimulates the eye and creates interest. Creating each piece is like a journey that takes her back to when she was introduced to fabrics and patterns through her mom who was a fashion designer. Watching her mom’s work influenced Behnaz and captivated her and made her who she is today.
It’s very crucial for Behnaz to be able to self-express herself and be able to escape from every day. With art she gets to go to her own little world, that is beautiful, fun and all the colors are bold and brighter than reality. Art is how she fits into her surroundings. Art is how she meets new people, new friends, new opportunities that allows her to grow and challenges her to learn new things. Hence, Behnaz always has a burden to create, not to remain stark and simple and show the world just who she is.
It’s important for Behnaz in this fast pace world to stop and look at her surroundings, take notice and appreciate all the details in life and objects. For her art, she want the viewer to get up close and stare at all the patterns and shapes and to feel a sense of satisfaction and energy.
